What is counselling?
Counselling provides a safe, confidential space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences with the support of a trained professional.
What can counselling help with?
Counselling can support anxiety, stress, depression, relationships, grief, confidence, life changes and personal growth.
Do I need a specific problem to start?
No. Many people seek counselling to better understand themselves, manage emotions or improve their wellbeing.
What happens in the first session?
It is a chance to talk about what brings you to counselling, discuss your needs and see if we are a good fit.
Is counselling confidential?
Yes. Sessions are confidential, with limited exceptions where there may be concerns about serious risk or safeguarding.
How long are sessions and how often do we meet?
Sessions are usually 50 minutes and often weekly, although this can be discussed based on your needs.
How many sessions will I need?
It varies. Some people attend a few sessions; others choose longer-term support.
Do you offer online and face-to-face sessions?
Yes. Sessions may be available online, face to face, or both, depending on your preferences and availability.
Will you give me advice?
Counselling helps you explore your thoughts and make choices that feel right for you.
What if I feel nervous about starting?
It is completely normal to feel unsure. We can move at your pace, and you only need to share what feels comfortable.
Can we have a chat before the first session?
Yes. I offer a free 20-minute introductory call so we can talk and see whether I might be the right fit. Please get in touch to arrange a time.
